These forceps are specially designed for piercing the tragus. The small “bucket” enables the piercer to pierce downwards towards the ear, keeping the piercing on a right-angle to the skin, at the same time making sure that the needle passes no further than just through the cartilage. Once the needle hits the bottom of the bucket, the forceps can be removed and the jewellery can be inserted safely, eliminating the risk of 'shaving' the edge of the cartilage.

These universal forceps have smaller end rings than traditional 'clamps' and hold only the smallest amount of skin, therefore making the piercing much more accurate. They are cleverly made so that when “clicking” closed on the first “click” they do not meet at the ends. This enables the piercer to keep a constant tension of the skin being held, rather than using elastic bands or relying on a steady hand. They are also superior in tongue piercing because they enable the piercer to look underneath the tongue for veins whilst holding the tongue in place for piercing.
